Journey of a Bookcase

Bookcase Finished (except for endless tweaking...)

Part one of this job will give you an idea of where I started.  Part two shows the painting in progress.

And now - the reward.

Well, guess not! Blogger won't upload my photo's...

Yeah! Here they are...

This photo before the first "evening with coffee drink in hand tweaking session."  I expect many more.

In the first session I moved the large books on bottom shelf to the far right and made a few other small changes. Now what really threw me off was wondering where all my books had gone.  Totally forgot that the majority of the paperbacks are in photo boxes now, freeing up tons of space.  I would like to add more baskets for texture but it's hard to find the right size ones that could possibly hold books.  And some additional art work would be fun now that I have some empty space.

The vintage traincases on the floor are used for candle storage. I'm getting ready to decoupage the far right one and have decided to redo the far left one.  The basket second from right is completely filled with a fully stocked greeting card file so I always have cards ready to go.  The Dollar Store has great deals on cards.   On major holidays like Christmas I stock up on the personalized cards (like Merry Christmas to a particular relative.)

Don't forget Transformation Thursday over at The Shabby Chic Cottage! Please stop over to offer your prayers. Gina's mother-in-law is quite ill and in the ICU...

MM - those would be the burgundy and blue boxes on the bottom shelf (left and right). There's another on on the third shelf from the bottom (left) and center bottom shelf (it looks white).

I found some baskets in the barn that fit on the shelves and stuck books in them this afternoon. Tweak, tweak, tweak...
