One down - three to go...

First of three chairs is done, but not without an almost complete meltdown on my part.  I forgot how miserable it was to cover those chairs.  They need to be taken apart and when I reassembled them I put the seat on backwards.  That's why the little piece of fabric is hanging down in the front corner. It was ripped loose when I crammed the seat back on.  I'll repair it when I do the next chair.   It's taken me three days to recover from the ordeal.  At one point I seriously considered throwing the chair out in the snow bank.  Really!  Hubby hid in his office.  Smart guy!

These chairs are my hubby's favorite because they have little rollers on the bottom.  If the "design" looks familiar it's because you probably sat in one just like it in your doctors waiting room.  After doing the second one for the dining room, I'll tackle the two that live in our bedroom...

And then................ in true ADD fashion,  I'll touch-up the paint on the arms.  What?  Is there a better way?

Nice job! I have covered chair seats and that is the extent of my upholstery skills.

Hi Adrienne...So glad you survived the chair reupholstering. Sounded like a VERY difficult task to me and one I've never ever done and probably never will attempt. GOOD FOR YOU, Adrienne! Looks very nice, too. Congrats. Glad hubby's relieved it's done, too! ha! Susan

Well...it certainly looks awfully nice. Beautiful fabric, maybe now that you have the first one done the rest will be easier. (-:

You have that fabric absolutely matched and even. They are looking wonderful. I do understand your frustration! I have a bad habit of throwing things out into my backyard when I have my meltdowns. So far it's been a scanner and a scale. I just felt so darn good throwing them out the back door FAR FAR into the yard!

Adrienne,

The chairs look great! I recovered (for the 2nd time) our 6 dining room chairs last year. They came out pretty good except there are a couple that I need to go back and redo because the fabric isn't tight enough. My husband said "they are fine!" but every time I see the fabric bunched just a little it bugs me!
