Hyacinths part three

Jan. 28

Today

My purple hyacinth turned out to be pink

The scent fills the whole room...

The Nester has some interesting posts on thrifting:
Lately I've been witnessing a subtle change in many of the decor blogs from acquiring more to doing more with less.

Interesting, don't you think?

Hi Adrienne...Right now there are three hyacinths in the kitchen...pink, purple, and white. They smell beautifully but not so much as to fill the room. Don't know why. But I'm enjoying them to the hilt.

It's true that less is more. However, it's also true I love to surround myself with beautiful things...part of the joy of life for me. I don't like clutter or mismatching but love the things I put in our home. Take care. Susan

How lovely! Next year I need to remember to do this in my own home.

Now I really, really want to go out and buy a pot of hyacinths - I love their fragrance. Next year I really have to force some indoors.

I love hyacinths so much! I am off to pick up more bulbs tomorrow and grow them in pots. Your photo is gorgeous!

Hi Adrienne! Thought I'd stop by and say hello. Your hyacinths are so pretty. Mine are just busting through the soil here in MO. I sure hope they're as pretty as yours.

When I was raising kids and working, I hardly had any decor at all. It was easier to keep clean and less chaotic. Now that the nest is emptying I've been wanting more stuff. I guess to 'fill' myself. I suspect one day I'll get tired of it all. LOL!

Oooohhh, Adrienne, I can just smell these right now! Your post is making me long for Spring. I love tulips and (one of my absolute favorite flowers)irises. But hyacinths have such a wonderful scent that is synonymous with spring time. Loveliness!! xxBliss

I love reading about your amazing skills with hyacinths. I will be ultra prepared next season. I have planted my bulbs in the ground and the snails think it's a cafeteria! What do you do about those little demons?
