An Unusual Sunday

Yesterday started out in the usual way with church.  Hubby and I had breakfast out (we love Sunday breakfast out), and then I headed out to some of my favorite antique malls that are now open on Sunday afternoon and to pick up a few gardening items at WalMart.

I rarely shop on a Sunday since I try to adhere to honoring the Lord's Day in a proper fashion.  I will do outside work because that qualifies as recreation for me, but shopping is usually off limits.  I guess you could call shopping "recreation", but that would be a bit of a stretch.  Sigh...

In any event, I headed out to My Favorite Things.  I posted about this antique mall before here and here.  As huge as it was before (8000 square feet), since taking over the space next door, it's even larger.  This place is now ginormous! It's enabled them to have more dealers that feature furniture, which is a good thing.

The New Area

I can sure pass on the red chair but check out the birdcage.  More pictures of that coming up...

A big front room just for children's stuff. The dealers are still arranging and organizing this room.

Lot's of gorgeous hand-painted porcelain.  Having done porcelain painting I can attest to how well done this piece is...

and this one, too

I have a hankering for this sweet piece for only $8.95...

Bowls and pitchers...

This birdcage is bigger than my living room...

Another view...

Later this week we'll take a peek at the Rooster Lady (my name for her)

Have a wonderful Monday.  I'm going to be getting more seeds started in my "dining room turned nursery."   Hopefully they'll head out to the cold frame my hubby built for me within a few weeks.

Dear Adrienne....Oh stop my beating heart! That flea market looks fabulous. Fab-u-lous! Oh, pity my purse if I went there. Those dishes you took such gorgeous photos of.....oh! so beautiful. And you didn't like the red chair? I thought it was gah gah. Oh, that was a great post, Adrienne. I really enjoyed it. Wish that place were closer and we could go together! Take care. Sincerely, Susan

Glenda - that birdcage is HUGE. I fell in love but I'd have to keep it in the barn... heh

Susan - I thought of you because there must be a gazillion teacups between all the dealers. I took a picture of a special one just for you and will post it later.

The red chair is rather cute and campy. It's just a bit too red for moi...
