Strive for a life of recollection so that you can hear My voice, which is so soft that only recollected souls can hear it.
I have come to know that, in order for God to act in a soul, it must give up acting on its own; otherwise, God will not carry out His will in it.
In order to hear the voice of God, one has to have silence in one's soul and to keep silence; not a gloomy silence but an interior silence; that is to say, recollection in God.
