I was going to say "dead" mouse but figured that would be a bit of a turn off. On Tuesday we woke up to discover the water company had dug a hole the size of an olympic swimming pool in the middle of our private road. No warning - no notice. My lawn tractor decided it needed a new coil before it would start, and on Wednesday morning my computer mouse froze up.
By Thursday my computer guru fixed the mouse (with instructions over the phone, no less), the new coil arrived and was installed post haste by my tractor guru (he knows how crazy I get when the lawn tractor doesn't run), but we still have a hole in the road.
The road. We have to drive through the weeds in the ditch to get to our house...
The hole (which is waaaaaaay bigger now. This was just a warm-up)
A Saturday morning trip to the Farmer's Market always makes me feel better...
And my favorite Parmesan fresh pesto bread from the market. Outstanding!
My beautiful white w/pink edges Oriental lily is blooming. Those flowers are eight inches across....
And look what God sent to us Thursday evening to put everything in perspective...
All in all, it was a pretty nice week...

Sounds like some of my days. Did anyone ever tell you why you were not notified about no road access and/or how long it would be like that?
Hope you are enjoying your weekend.
Sounds like to pits to begin with and then look, it ended up being so awesome, look at that sunset! I am all into sunsets and your photograph is great!
Adrienned, I am happy I found your blog.

Hello Adrienne....Oh my gosh, what a string of happenings. By the way, WHY are they digging into the road like that? Is there a pipe that needed replacing or something? Cheeze. Your farmer's market produce looks yummy, including the bread, and the sunset is just gorgeous. Kind of put things into perspective. Thanks for sharing. Susan
That bread would make it all ALMOST worthwhile. Yummy! I hope you still have water!
Glenda - the water company has dropped the ball from day one. Poor communications, mistakes - you name it and they've done it.
Naturally, they don't work on the weekends so the hole just sits there.
Susan - they're hooking up for a new sub-division ONE MILE AWAY! Now correct me if I'm wrong. Are there not water lines one mile away on a major road that is spitting distance from the sub-division? Oh course there is! It's crazy.
And the bottom line is we don't need another sub-division.
Jan -a the bread is to die for. Really!
Nancy - you're right. In the bigger scheme of things a hole in the road is not too bad (unless they fail to restore our road properly, in which case heads will roll - which can be fun, too.
my weekend wore me out....can I have 2 please?
Sounds like things that go on around here! :(
