Earlier this year a 3 foot strip was added to one of the beds...
A cart full of daylilies that have been divided and are ready to be planted. When you order daylilies from me this is what you can expect to receive. The only difference would be the shipped daylilies are washed, treated in Clorox water as a precaution, tagged, and wrapped like a bunch of fresh flowers.
A trench is dug and the daylilies are placed (thrown) in the trench. Then I move down the row, stand them up, and pull up the soil. This is a time that being short is a real advantage...
In they go...
My husband remarked on my "high tech" string line...
And most important - the label...

That is a lot of work - but your flowers are beautiful. Thanks for the info. about the webworms. I have seen them many times before, but did not know what there were. It is in my neighbor's tree that hangs over my courtyard. He looked at it late yesterday afternoon and said he will get rid of it. It is so high up, it may be a problem to reach.

I see you are in No. Idaho...I spent many summers in the Boise area. (my grandmother lived in Payette) All of my aunts & uncles (3 sets) were in the flower business. The husbands had the greenhouses and wives ran the florist shops. Have you ever heard of a florist by the name of John Carpenter in Boise? He's my cousin...

I have really enjoyed going through your current and past posts! After reading Fiona's blog on journaling I decided to check out your August 20 post (my 53d birthday!) Your journals are so creative, so beautiful. I am inspired to do something like this! I have my clients create journals or posters for their progress and inspiration. Your style is fantastic. I just got some illustration pens from "Blick" and love doodling with them. Now I know a new avenue I will take!
